145 persons almost lost their lives on Tuesday December 22, 2009, after American Airlines Flight 331 overshot the runway at the Norman Manley International Airport and crashed inches away from the Caribbean Sea. More than 40 passengers were said to be hurt and several had to be taken to the hospital.
