Hurricane Bill update

The United States based National Hurricane Centre says Hurricane Bill remains an extremely dangerous category four storm as it is continues on a north-western path.

At four o’ clock Atlantic Standard time, meteorologists placed the centre of Hurricane Bill at near latitude 19.8 North and at a longitude of 57.6 West or about 335 miles northeast of the Leeward islands.

They say the category four storm is about 970 miles south-southeast of Bermuda.

Hurricane Bill is moving near 20 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of near 135 miles per hour, with high gust.

Forecasters say the Leeward Islands, Bermuda and the Eastern Coast of the US should feel the effects of Hurricane Bill in the next day or two, with some areas experiencing large swells.
