Tourism and Entertainment Minister, the Hon. Dr. Wykeham McNeill, will chair a meeting of representatives of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, JHTA and senior government technocrats on Wednesday morning (May 30), at the Ministry’s offices. This comes in response to a request by the JHTA, for further dialogue on the recently announced tax measures, which directly affect the tourism sector.
 
In making the announcement Minister McNeill stated that: “given the concerns raised by the JHTA, I have arranged for discussions with the technical teams from the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment and the Ministry of Finance and Planning, and representatives of the JHTA who will put forward the findings coming out of the emergency meeting of their Executive, scheduled for today (May 29).”
