The St James police are still searching for clues as they continue to probe the murder of honorary consul to the British High Commission, John Terry.

Mr Terry who was 65 was found murdered outside his house in Mount Carey St James yesterday afternoon.

News of his death shocked the business and tourism sectors across Montego Bay.

Terry worked in the tourism sector for about 30 years and was awarded a Member of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II on July 31, 1992.

He represented the British High Commission in the Western end of the island.

The police were still combing his house for clues that could help them in their investigation late last night.

The police say Terry drove home on Tuesday night and about 1:30 p.m. yesterday his body was discovered outside the house.

It had a cord tied around the neck along with a piece of clothing.

The police say it appeared that Terry had been beaten as bloodstains were found at the premises.

The deputy superintendent in charge of crime for St James Michael Garrick said early investigations suggest that there was no forced entry.

He also said a note was left on the victim's bed but he would not divulge the details.

John Terry was also the maintenance manager at the Half Moon Hotel in Montego Bay.
