Meanwhile, star batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul has returned to Guyana’s squad for their fifth round West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) regional first class championship match against hosts Barbados.

The West Indies batsman has not played a single match in the tournament after failing to recover from a finger injury he sustained on the Test tour of Australia late last year.

Chanderpaul is Guyana’s most experienced batsman, having amassed 8,669 runs from 123 Tests at an average of nearly 49.

Guyana will still be without their other experienced Test batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan who has been sidelined with injury since the end of the Australia tour.

Guyana have struggled in the competition so far and are bottom of the tables on seven points after losing two games and drawing one.
