Last year’s semifinalists St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) defeated Tivoli Gardens 2-0 for a perfect start to the second round of the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup football competition earlier this afternoon.

The game was the first match of a double-header at Constant Spring field.

Jermaine Reid scored in the 73rd minute to put STATHS ahead and Andrew Christie, hammered in an 85th minute penalty, to compete the victory.

Tivoli Gardens ended with 10 men after goalkeeper Donald Hamilton was red carded with six minutes remaining.

Meanwhile at Sports Time, Excelsior, courtesy of a double strike from Neco Brett were leading Kingston College 2-0 in the second game.
