Man U reach knockout phase of Champions League

Hosts Manchester United of England scored twice in the last six minutes today to reach the knockout phase of the Champions League with a 3-3 draw against CSKA Moscow of Russia.

Manchester United qualified with two games remaining. They are atop Group ‘B’ with 10 points, six more than CSKA.

Over in Munich, Bordeaux of France also qualified for the knockout stage after beating hosts Bayern Munich of Germany of 2-nil.

Yoann Gourcuff and Marouane Chamakh both scored to take the French club to 10 points in Group ‘A’.

Bayern remained in third place with four points.

Over in Marseille, hosts Marseille of France trounced FC Zurich of Switzerland 6-1 to keep alive their chances of qualifying for the knockout round.

Marseille have six points from four games in Group C, a point behind AC Milan and Real Madrid. Zurich are last with three points.
